Name the Park Contest - UpdateAfter further discussions with the RM of De Salaberry, it was decided to extend the naming contest submission deadline to June 6th, 2022. This will allow time for more individuals to participate in the contest as well as time for the ESMS staff and students to go through the process of selecting the Top 3 entries ahead of the June 14, 2022 RM council meeting where the final name will hopefully be selected. In addition to the deadline date change, we are pleased to share the following 6 storyboard panel themes (developed by the St. Malo Corner Park Committee) which will help make a connection with our visitors and locals alike in addition to the story behind the deer statue’s themselves. (More details on each theme can be seen in the photos of this post) 1. Where the Great Plains Begin: The Diverse Landscapes of St. Malo 2. The Crow Wing Trail - A Métis Fur Trade Highway 3. Mme Sara's class build simple machines4/5E has been learning about force and simple machines in Science lately. We have been enjoying exploring these concepts through hands-on experiences and the design process. So far, we have made catapults (levers) loaded with mini marshmallows and pulleys that had to halt Lego creations of various weights into the air. We have also used our toy cars to explore wheels and axles. It turns out simple machines can be both helpful and fun!
