Today is our last official Blog Voyageurs News for this school year. We have been through an absolutely crazy kind of school year with so many challenges, have many fast paced changes and through it all you have truly embodied the spirit of the Voyageur. Voyageurs faced countless challenges and overcame them by working together in their determination to make it to their destination. Our school community has worked so much harder this year keeping up with COVID guidelines and various reponse level while balancing learning, teaching, or maintaining work schedules. Voyageurs are made stronger with every adventure that they take on. As ÉSMS voyageurs, we took on challenges knowing that we would make it through successfully because we are strong, we are dedicated, we are resilient. After all that hard work, it’s time to take a break. I hope everyone finds time to rest and relax and enjoy your summer holidays. We are going to miss you very much and we already look forward to being with you again in the fall! KINDERGARTEN/MATERNELLE GRADUATIONThe Albert Dequier bursary is awarded to a deserving student who has overcome obstacles in their daily journeys toward lifelong education. This year's recipients of the award are Jaxon johns and Tobin Hiebert. Way to go Jaxon! Way to go Tobin! GRADE 8 FAREWELLDuring Remote Learning students in Grades 3-8 created Nature Art with materials found around their own yards/neighbourhood and the school grounds. Middle Years students learned about an artist named Andy Goldsworthy who produces and photographs artwork using natural materials (such as flowers, mud, ice, leaves, twigs, pebbles, boulders, snow, thorns, bark, grass, and pinecones). Check out their unique creations! The students in Grade 7/8 learned about Mosaics and created their own using Google Drawings. Please use the links below to access the school supply lists for the 2021-2022 school ye ar. École St Malo School participates in a student assessment program called, Strong Beginnings. This is a division-wide program based on learning vital information about our students. The dates for Strong Beginnings for the 2021-2022 school year are September 17th and 20th, 2021. Strong Beginnings is an opportunity for your child’s teachers to meet with students one-on-one to conduct important assessments in Language Arts, Francais and Mathematics. By conducting the assessments early in the school year, our goals are:

We are sharing the link early so that you have adequate time to make any child care arrangements you may need. Please note: There are no scheduled classes on September 17 and 20. Your child attends only for her/his appointment. We will send a reminder letter in early September. Out of respect for the lives lost in the tragic discovery of another major site of unmarked graves at Marieval Indian Residential School, our school will lower the flag to half-mast.
