Art with Mme CaraSpring is in the AirThe Grade 1/2s in Mme Christine and Mme Kristyn’s class learned about patterns and crayon resist. Mme Christine’s class also painted beautiful flowers inside of vases. They were learning about how to make tints by adding white to a colour. They also added layers to their flowers to give a 3 dimensional look by using a darker or lighter colour of their flower. Mme Kristyn’s class explored art in advertising. We watched some retro cereal commercials and they designed their own cereal boxes and cereal bits. They also used straws to make their white paint look like milk splashing in their bowls. Neurographic ArtThe Grades 5/6F students learned about Neurographic Art. It is based on a concept developed by Russian psychologist and creative entrepreneur Pavel Piskarev in 2014. He believed that creative processes engage additional neurons and improve your ability to make decisions. The name is derived from neuro (brain) and (graphic) image. As an art therapy technique, it helps people make connections. Many people find it meditative or relaxing to do.
