There is still time to purchase books from our Scholastic Book Fair! Due to unforeseen circumstances on Friday, our book fair has been extended to Tuesday, February 7. Parents are welcome to come to the school to make payment for their child. If you cannot make it in-person, but would still like to purchase from our fair, you can do so by using the link below. Mr. Seeley's 7/8s are studying organ systems in Science class. To demonstrate their learning, students put together life size posters of various systems and all the organs within them. Snow much fun in grade 3/4Both classes learned about perspective and drew snowmen looking down from above. Each one is unique. Mme Charm’s class also learned about value, blending pastels and adding shadows to their snowmen Ice shack villagesMme Christine’s class learned about warm and cool colours and created an ice shack village. They designed toques and added texture to their pictures using cotton. Textured Polar BearsMme Katie’s and Mme Sydney’s class learned about implied texture by using foil to stamp an image of a polar bear. Then they made a scarf pattern using paper squares. Finally, they added some personality painting the face on their polar bear. Matisse - Drawing with ScissorsMme Bonnie’s and Mme Kristyn’s class learned about Henri Matisse. They created textured pauper with paint and a background panel. Next they cut out geometric and organic shapes from their painted paper to create a masterpiece. They added emphasis with black paint. 3D Relief MasksMr. Seely’s 7/8s created masks using cardboard and blending pastels to create artwork inspired by Kimmy Cantrell. Cats on a FenceThe grade 7/8s in M. Fouasse and M. Steven’s class learned about colour theory, tints, tones and shades last term. They mixed paint to create the colours on the colour wheel to paint their fence. They drew cats and created several tones of grey using black and white paint. They used liquid watercolours for their background with a salting effect. 3D Paper Structures Mme Rikki’s class folded paper strips to make cubes!

Donation request-gently used toques and mittsWe are reaching out to our school community and asking if you have any gently used outdoor clothing that you can donate to the school, it would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for mitts and toques in larger sizes that will assist K-8 students. You can send your items with your child OR you can drop them off at the front office of the school. Fouasse’s ⅞ Francais class were invited to M. Steve’s ⅞ classroom to play Math games including Slides and Ladders to practice mental math. 5/6E visit Lil' Steps FarmGrade 5/6 E is learning about Division and multiplication facts. In our social science class we are learning about Fur trade and how it effected our history. In science, we are learning about maintaining a healthy body. We are learning how to make collage with Mme Cara. We are also on a mission to learn about feelings and mindfulness and how they affect our daily life. Mme Lucy at Little Farm is helping to understand it closely by allowing us to see and watch animals closely at her farm. Students in Mme. Rikki's grade 3/4 class practice their multiplication skills with a math game called Lucky Lions. Maternelle working at starting soundsWe have been having a lot of fun learning and being back together since the break! We have been working really hard at starting sounds and letters of words. DoloresWe are excited to share that Mme Dolorès Patenaude will be part of the class teaching team. Dolorès is a former principal and classroom teacher with many years of experience and a frequent substitute teacher in our school. She will join us on Wednesdays and Thursdays and Mme Charmaine will continue to teach the remainder of the weekdays. The next Subway Day will be taking place on Thursday, January 26. During phys Ed classes we took advantage of the nice weather with the 5-8 playing snowshoe soccer. The k-4 learnt how to walk with shoe shoes. Mme. Kristyn’s class is learning how to construct paragraphs! We’re learning how to write the different parts and played a game called “Unscramble the Paragraph”! Exciting things happening in Mme Holly's classSome exciting things have been happening in kindergarten. We are reading!! Students have started reading in class and at home. We are working on high frequency words, beginning sounds, looking at the pictures for clues. We are also working on our numbers and number patterns. We enjoy playing games and manipulating numbers. Today we tried out snowshoeing with M. Dan. We were nervous at first but enjoyed it!
