Dismissals for remaining busses and students walking home will be between 3:30 and 3:40. The Festival du Voyageur is coming up in just a couple of weeks. This year we wanted to do something a little different for our 5-8 students. On Thursday, February 24, we have planned to walk over to the provincial park to have different activities throughout the afternoon. This afternoon will consist of 4 stations: 1) Cross country skiing 2) Snowshoeing 3) Cooking bannock over a fire 4) Ice fishing (for those who have the equipment-no tents) **Note for those who want ice fishing this will be their main activity for the afternoon. They will have the opportunity to go warm up around the fire** Because these are outdoor activities, we are able to have parent volunteers join us. We would like to invite those parents/guardians who are interested in helping out during the afternoon, to let us know. Please contact the office with which of the following activities you would like to help out with:
Mme christine's i love to read monthThe students were fortunate to have Wildlife Haven read a virtual book to our classroom. We had the opportunity to learn and meet Léo, a vulture at Wildlife Haven. Mme Charm's 3/4th graders are working very hard on a research project about an animal. They’re learning how to extract interesting and important information from a text. Then they are paraphrasing to write their own descriptive text about that animal. We have learned so many interesting things!! Did you know the tongue of the polar bear is actually blue?! Also, did you know the panda has six toes that help him hold his bamboo branches?! The St. malo community little free libraryThe Grade 7/8C class has decided to take care of the St Malo Community Little Free Library outside the school. Last week, some students from our class went to have a look, and discovered that the books inside were really messy, so we’ve decided to have a weekly clean-up so that the community can access and leave books more easily. Remember that the Little Free Library is for everyone! Take or leave a book whenever you want! Comments are closed.
