We are excited to be bringing the Scholastic Book Fair to ÉSMS in person and virtually! Starting Tuesday, November 8 until Thursday, November 10 students will have the opportunity to purchase books through the Scholastic Book Fair at the school. Parents are also invited to browse the selection of books during Parent/Teacher Meetings taking place November 9 and 10. If you are unable to make it to the in-person fair, there will also be a link sent out to families to purchase books online. Winter town pickupBats at night! While the school was busy at cross country, students in grades 2-4 in Mme Christine and Mme Charmaine’s class drew bats and made spooky moons using liquid watercolours. students in Mr. Seeley's Grade 7/8 Class are really enjoying the breakfast program Seeley's Gr7/8 class spent the week learning about cells and organelles in Science, simplifying fractions in Math, and making sugar-skulls in Art with Mme. Cara. Working on sounds in mme katie's classIn grade 1/2 E we are working very hard on listening to the sounds we hear then either writing them down or saying them outloud. We have been using sound boxes and listening to the sounds in each word to help with our learning. To celebrate this week's learning we used smarties to build our sound boxes. We are working on the ending sound ‘at’ right now. Mme Katie and M Seeley’s Classes have been joining up to buddy read every Wednesday. On Friday, October 28th they joined together to make the friendly pumpkin patch that will be kept up in the grade 1/2E classroom. As the excitement buzzed, students created a pumpkin based on their passions and love for pumpkins that was placed in the pumpkin patch. HCSA work on acceleration and deceleration musclesHCSA students jogged to the park and did some ups & down the hills by the spillway to work on those acceleration and deceleration muscles. We also had an unforgettable visitor as a pigeon joined us during the workout. The seemingly domesticated pigeon is forever in our minds "Pierre the Pigeon." The Grade 7/8 HCSA students had the chance to participate in an ice session and an off-ice session at Starbuck Hockey Academy where they worked with different coaches and also made new friendships.
