MAPLEWOOD - WE'RE UP & RUNNINGThe long wait for Maplewood is over! All links on the website have been restored. Your Parent/ Student logins should be fully functional at this time. Should you have any issues please contact the school office. K-8 report cards will be going out the week of April 12th . These will be send electronically to families unless a hardcopy has been otherwise requested. CONGRATULATIONS!We would like to welcome the newest members of the Janzen family, the Sabourin-Muller family, and the Bruckshaw family!
Congrats to Mme Holly & Baby Hayes Muller was born on March 29th! Grades 5 & 6 Program RobotsThe grade 5/6s in Mme Bonnie’s class had the opportunity to explore coding and robotics before the spring break. Coding is another language that fosters creativity and helps them with math skills and problem solving. The students did amazing work and learned a lot. The robots made a huge difference in motivating the students to learn about technology and coding. Each robot had a name and we said goodbye to them like old friends. Following a natural break, and occasionally throughout the year as needed, the staff review with students the school wide expectations. The expectations are based on the PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention System) established in January of 2020 along with COVID adjustments (as per provincial requirements, previously shared in the school re-opening plan of September 2020). Frequently reviewing the school wide expectations can greatly help set the stage for student success. The expectations included are in the areas of the Classroom, Hallways, Entering & Exiting the school, Playground, Lunchtime, Bathroom, and the Bus. With the current circumstances surrounding the COVID Variants of Concerns, the spread of COVID and possibly being identified as a close contact in a VOC case has a greater impact on students, staff, and their families. I cannot understate the importance of helping our school community follow the the school wide expectations for everyone's safety. Parent teacher conferences will once again be held via phone or G-meet on the evening of Thursday April 15th and during the morning of Friday April 16th. Please see the attached link to schedule your parent teacher conference with your child's teacher.
