It is with bittersweet feelings that I share with you Mrs. Bailie Bruckshaw will be leaving ÉSMS after the winter break. We are truly grateful to have had Bailie be part of the ÉSMS community and staff for the past 6 years. She has made a significant impact on our students learning and we have truly enjoyed working and learning with her. Bailie wishes to extend her gratitude; she has loved her time at ÉSMS and will miss the students and staff dearly. On behalf of the students and staff of ÉSMS, I would like to wish Mrs. Bailie the greatest success in her future endeavors. You will always be part of our ÉSMS family. We will miss you Mrs. Bailie! The winter concert was a success!Students did 2 incredible performances this past Monday afternoon and evening. Students worked on their song throughout the month of December during music class and during class time with help from their homeroom teacher. We were able to raise 261 dollars towards our Breakfast Program! Thank you for your generous donations! 'Ti-Guy and Woody make classroom visitsstreet art in grade 7/8The students in Mr Seely, M. Fouasse, and M. Steven’s Grade 7/8 classes learned about Street Art and the graffiti of Adam Fujita (aka Adam Fu). Fujita’s most recent work features bright, neon-like graffiti in public places made entirely out of layered spray paint. Students cut out a stencil of a script initial, then created a shadow and glow to give the letter its unique neon light. warm and cool modern landscapes in grade 3/4Mme Rikki and Mme Charm’s classes learned about warm and cool colours. They drew this modern landscape with oil pastel and filled in their pictures with chalk pastel with a warm sky and cool land or a cool sky with warm land. They did an amazing job! expressive monkeys in mme christine's classStudents listened to the story Grumpy Monkey by Suzanne and Max Lang about how you are allowed to feel your feelings and not just slap on a happy face to cover up how you really feel. Next, they did a directed drawing of a cute monkey in oil pastel. Then it was up to the students to decide which facial expression they wanted their monkeys to have. We learned about implied texture to make our monkeys look realistic. The last step was painting their monkey and rainforest background. Aren’t they adorable and unique? Sea otters in grade 1/2Mme Katie and Mme Sydney’s classes also learned about texture and created these adorable sea otters floating in the water. Many steps went into this masterpiece; drawing, painting, cutting, more painting and printmaking! Fantastic work! Comments are closed.
