The Festival du Voyageur is coming up in just a couple of weeks. This year we wanted to do something a little different for our 5-8 students. On Thursday, February 24, we have planned to walk over to the provincial park to have different activities throughout the afternoon. This afternoon will consist of 4 stations:
1) Cross country skiing 2) Snowshoeing 3) Cooking bannock over a fire 4) Ice fishing (for those who have the equipment-no tents) **Note for those who want ice fishing this will be their main activity for the afternoon. They will have the opportunity to go warm up around the fire** Because these are outdoor activities, we are able to have parent volunteers join us. We would like to invite those parents/guardians who are interested in helping out during the afternoon, to let us know. Please contact the office with which of the following activities you would like to help out with:
Mme sara's 4/5E learn about informative writingIn 4/5E, we have started learning about informative writing. We are learning about text features, subtopics, and how to recognize which information is important. We started with looking at mentor texts (examples) and co-creating some criteria for this form of writing. We had a lot of fun exploring the topics in our mentor texts and coming up with some wonders and connections. We even invited some guest visitors to help us prove a point about the facts we were learning from an informative text on bones (shout out to Mr. Kyle and a grade 8 student for being willing to stop by!). Next,we are going to continue to develop our skills for interacting with informative texts before we start learning how to write our own. To celebrate Valentine’s day, 5/6b made cards for themselves with positive affirmations during English class. Together we made a word cloud with all of our qualities and skills. We took the time to celebrate our unique attributes and encouraged self love. The students made beautiful cards! winter fun in maternelle with mme danielleUpdates to Public Health MeasuresComments are closed.
