Mme. Rikki's Grade 3&4 class are exploring Living in Manitoba and Manitoba History in Social Studies class. Under Construction in Mme Katie's roomKinetic ArtMme Rikki and Mme Katrina’s class incorporated Science and study of magnets with Art. They learned about Kinetic Art and that it is a type of art that depends on movement to create an effect. They each designed a skater and painted a whimsical background. Using a paperclip and a magnet, they were able to make their person skate on the pond! Very cool! Weaving in 7/8Candy Shoes/MarblesMme Ally’s class each chose a shoe to learn how to draw. Next they picked their favourite candy/chocolate to use as inspiration for their shoe colour scheme and design. They also observed and painted marbles. They used chalk pastel to demonstrate their knowledge of light to create a realistic reflection of their marbles. citrus up closeMme Rikki's class put their observation skills to great work as they were learning about value and shape. Each student chose a citrus fruit to draw up close. Then they only used one colour and white to show different values of that colour to represent their fruit. Then they painted the background with a complimentary colour to make it "pop"! food trucks and donuts galore! All 3 Grade 5/6 classes learned about graphic design. They created a logo and made a food truck to match their product. They also made 3-D donuts from newspaper, toilet paper, paint and a shaving cream/glue icing. They are all very unique and should be proud of their hard work. Comments are closed.
