Name the Park Contest - UpdateAfter further discussions with the RM of De Salaberry, it was decided to extend the naming contest submission deadline to June 6th, 2022. This will allow time for more individuals to participate in the contest as well as time for the ESMS staff and students to go through the process of selecting the Top 3 entries ahead of the June 14, 2022 RM council meeting where the final name will hopefully be selected. In addition to the deadline date change, we are pleased to share the following 6 storyboard panel themes (developed by the St. Malo Corner Park Committee) which will help make a connection with our visitors and locals alike in addition to the story behind the deer statue’s themselves. (More details on each theme can be seen in the photos of this post) 1. Where the Great Plains Begin: The Diverse Landscapes of St. Malo 2. The Crow Wing Trail - A Métis Fur Trade Highway 3. Louis Malo and Family - The First French Settlers 4. A Natural Playground - St. Malo Provicial Park 5. Our Lady of Lourdres Grotto - A Site of Retreat and Reflection 6. Working Together to Build a Better Future - The Communities who Helped Build St. Malo Thank you for your patience throughout this naming contest process as it is new to both ESMS and the RM of De Salaberry, and we look forward to finally putting a name to what we all can hope will be a long standing feature of our community. Entries can be submitted to the ESMS Office via email at [email protected] with the subject line “Naming Contest”. Digital mosaics with 7/8 FrançaisIn Art class the grade 7/8 students of the French program had the chance to create digital mosaics from a picture of their choice using their laptops. The results were quite spectacular! En classe d'art, les élèves de 7e et 8e année du programme de français ont eu la chance de créer des mosaïques numériques à partir d'une image de leur choix à l'aide de leur ordinateur portable. Les résultats ont été assez spectaculaires ! Alphabet Soup!Alphabet Soup! YUM! Mme Rikki’s students made bowls of soup and place settings! If you zoom in you’ll see a letter of the alphabet they “scooped up” in their mixed media artwork. Town-Wide clean-upOn Friday all the students participated in a town-wide clean-up.
