Parent teacher meetings are being held on Thursday, November 16 in the evening, as well as Friday, November 17 in the afternoon. If you would like to book an appointment you can do so by going to esms.schoolappointments.com/. Dear families, We had the privilege of hosting Cookem Daisy, our divisional Knowledge Holder today in our grades K to 4 French and English classes. Cookem Daisy shared some awesome stories about Anishinaabe words and how descriptive they can be compared to other languages we speak. The students learned about the significance of drums, soft leather, rice, herbs used for medicine, and the talking stick in indigenous history and culture. The students got to feel all the various objects and ask questions about them. During storytelling, students got to act out parts along with Cookem Daisy and she told the story. A favorite part of the lesson was Cookem Daisey sharing the story about how the turtle got its shell. We look forward to Cookem Daisy's next visit with our middle years classes on November 28. On s’est bien amusé en 1/2 FrançaisCette semaine fût une semaine pleine d’activités. This week was busy with plenty of activities. We had a lot of fun! This week, Cookem Daisy visited our class and shared her knowledge and stories with us! We learned about drums, bison hide and different plants in Manitoba that can be used for medicine and teas!
