COMMUNICATION WITH OUR FAMILIESStaying in contact and sharing information with our families is very important to the team at ÉSMS. ON FRIDAY OF EVERY WEEK, the ÉSMS news is delivered to families via a blog. We are encouraging families to take a few moments to read the news and enjoy the pictures and videos of the student successes. You'll notice the occasional contest on the Blog with great prizes to be won for the family. Help us stay connected by checking out the news weekly. At this time we are unable to post events and information on the school billboard which is not functioning. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher or the admin team at the school. We'd love to hear from you! New in this week's blog- Family contest! Scroll below SCHOOL FOCUS THIS YEARThis year as a school community, we will be focusing on academic and social areas which include: increasing literacy (both reading and writing)proficiency in students, increasing numeracy skills in students, empowering positive behavior choices, and building up the ÉSMS Voyageurs school community. Numeracy, Literacy, and Positive Behavior (PBIS) conversations will be ongoing amongst the staff and students. We encourage you to reach out to teachers for more information on your child's numeracy, literacy, and social development and progress and for suggestions on how to support this from home. Classroom expectations in Mr Seeley's classOur 7/8D students had a great first week. We established our class expectations for the school year and spent plenty of time getting to know each other. Next week, we will go over election results, continue our math-facts, and take a nature walk to learn about ecosystems around our community. Grade 5 and 6 classes learning math through card and dice gamesThis year in our grade 5 and 6 classes we will be playing a variety of card and dice games that will help our students and teachers practice common core math concepts. The games are both challenging and fun and provide opportunities to practice and explore math concepts in a fun, hands-on way. The games exercise the brand in an engaging way for both children and adults alike! Les jeux de Mathé en 3/4 chez M ShaneWe are excited to be playing Math games again with our friends. Nous sommes excités car nous pouvons encore une fois jouer aux jeux de Mathé avec nos amis.
